Shana Johnson is a board-certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is a regular contributor to WebMD, Psychology Today, and medical news. She is the author of Sunbreak: Healing the Pain No One Can Explain, which shines a light on the stress-illness connection with central sensitization syndromes.

Her work experience includes being co-director of the UW Medicine Multiple Sclerosis Center and medical director at the WA state Medicaid Fee-For-Service program, where she developed evidence-based medical policy. Currently, she is the owner of AskDrShana Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, which supports those with central sensitization syndromes.
