Dr. Liz Brennan is an outcomes research associate with a concentration in qualitative research. In her role, she is responsible for supporting the research team by developing protocol materials, conducting qualitative interviews, coding and analyzing data, and preparing reports and publications. Recent projects have included concept elicitation and cognitive debriefing studies, mixed-method studies, and development of conceptual models. Prior to joining QM, Liz conducted research on electronic health records, including developing and utilizing a semi-structured interview guide to assess the technology’s impact on the experiences of healthcare professionals. Through her academic training, she taught social/organizational behavior courses and worked as a research assistant on a project that employed both qualitative and quantitative methods. Liz also worked as a privacy specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she supported the hospital’s HIPAA compliance program and engaged with patients and clinicians to mitigate privacy incidents. Liz earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Mount Holyoke College, her master’s degree in sociology from Boston College, and her PhD in sociology from Brown University.
