Edie Sperling is Vice-Chair and Assistant Professor of Medical Anatomical Sciences at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest, Western University of Health Sciences. She instructs first and second-year osteopathic and podiatric medical students in gross anatomy and cadaver dissection, which she began teaching in 2009. Edie has a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has been in orthopedic clinical practice for twelve years treating patients with neuromusculoskeletal pain and injury. She is also an experienced clinical instructor and is skilled at using her experience as a physical therapist to help students learn clinical anatomy. She is certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as being a Certified Manual Physical Therapist through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. She is currently in progress on a PhD through the University of Missouri researching health behaviors and student wellness.
