Dr. Erica Wegrzyn received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Western New England College of Pharmacy. She then went on to complete a general PGY-1 residency at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, ME and subsequently completed a PGY-2 Pain and Palliative Care Residency at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Fudin. After completing her PGY2, Dr. Wegrzyn accepted a position as a clinical pharmacy specialist in pain with the Stratton VA and subsequently assumed the role as director of the PGY2 Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacy Residency program. She is adjunct faculty at Western New England University College of Pharmacy, Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and SUNY Binghamton College of Pharmacy. Her research interests include buprenorphine and other unique opioids as an alternative to traditional opioids, opioid transition and dosing, in-home naloxone distribution, emergency response, and technology platforms to promote opioid safety. She has numerous peer reviewed articles, textbook chapters and other publications related to pharmacotherapeutics and pain. Dr. Wegrzyn also holds a position as Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Pain Research.
