This presentation will feature a clear understanding of the value of interventional procedures for treating chronic pain. More guidelines are recommending non-opioid therapies; therefore, nerve blocks, injections, and neuromodulation strategies are assuming an increasing role in managing chronic pain. Common procedures used for pain reduction will be highlighted, their evidence base, and a basic description of how each procedure is performed. We will primarily review strategies for treating low back pain, neck pain, radicular pain, knee pain, and incorporate spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and intrathecal pump
Learning Objectives:
Identify patients who may benefit from interventional procedures
Recognize procedural interventions for spinal/ non-spinal pain
Describe patients who may benefit from pain pumps and neural stimulation devices
