The post COVID-19 era has provided opportunities to re-evaluate and revisit numerous aspects of healthcare, including the individualized management of osteoarthritis (OA). This program will focus on a variety of pain relief options, including over-the-counter (OTC) medications and adjuvant pain therapies that meet individualized needs and can be addressed during virtual or traditional in-person visits. As part of this program, the importance of lifestyle changes for patients with OA to minimize pain, maintain or improve functionality, and maximize quality of life outcomes will be discussed. In addition, the role of a variety of OTC medications, dosing options, schedules, formulations, and safety profiles will be reviewed. Finally, the need for patient education highlighting product choice, and the optimal use and potential side effects or adverse events of the various treatment options for OA will be discussed.
